Alejandro Zapata, MD Diplomate, American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
Presently, Dr. Zapata is a treating psychiatrist across all New Oakland Facilities and
works providing services in both the outpatient and FACE to FACE Partial
Hospital Program (PHP). Dr. Zapata graduated from the University of Santo Domingo School of
Medicine.
Dr. Zapata is a member of numerous Psychiatric Associations and has specialized training in
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Dr. Zapata has over 20 years of experience in psychiatry
and provides treatment to Child-Adolescent and Adult populations. In his free time Dr. Zapata
enjoys spending time with his family. Also in his free time, Dr. Zapata enjoys reading,
traveling and watching Detroit Tigers baseball.
